Diversity Statement Policy

United Way of Payne County unequivocally denounces racial, ethnic, and all forms of discrimination.  Discrimination undermines the dignity and quality of life of every human it affects, and in turn harms our entire community. We commit to leveraging our community investments to create equitable access to resources for all individuals in Payne County.

The United Way of Payne County recognizes that structural racism, ethnic discrimination, and a lack of diversity and inclusion in places of power and in the places of need has existed in the past and persists today. The United Way of Payne County seeks to learn, grow, and act in opposition to practices that marginalize and minimize the voices and experiences of entire groups of people.

To LIVE UNITED, we must value the dignity and rightful place of all people to have a voice and access to resources, not in spite of, but because of diversity in age, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity or expression, national origin, individual or person with a disability, and or protected/veteran status.

Our vision is to continue to strive to reflect the diversity of our community in our financial investments, services, employment, volunteers and Board of Directors in order to enrich Payne County and help us LIVE UNITED.
