Partner Agency Work In Action

United Way builds a resilient community through a comprehensive approach that addresses urgent needs while also affecting long-term change. We mobilize stakeholders (e.g., volunteers, civic leaders, residents, community-based organizations) to help Payne County prepare for, withstand, and recover from natural and human-caused disasters, crises, and challenges that no one entity can singularly accomplish (e.g., weather-related disasters, public health crises, mass shootings). This includes the unique role United Ways can play to build the capacity of the nonprofit sector to effectively serve communities and to bring residents together.

MOBILIZING STAKEHOLDERS

By bringing together community leaders, local businesses, and government agencies, we are creating a unified front to address key challenges to help Payne County prepare for, withstand, and recover from natural and human-cause disasters, crises, and challenges.

ENSURING ACCESS TO RESOURCES

We are working to connect individuals and families with the essential resources they need to thrive. United Way enables and strengthens the operational capacity of nonprofits to meet the ongoing needs of residents. Through partnerships and outreach, we help meet short-term needs, including food, housing, and water, immediately following a disaster.

MITIGATING LONG-TERM IMPACT

By investing in preventative care, educational opportunities, and activities that mitigate the long-term impact of disaster, we empower the residents in our communities to rebuild after disasters.
