Letter Carrier's Food Drive
It’s that time of year again, the annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive is set for Saturday, May 12. The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the country’s largest single-day food drive.
Residents are encouraged to leave their donations of non-perishable goods next to their mailbox before the delivery of the mail on Saturday, May 12.
If you have a P.O. Box or you missed your letter carrier, there will be bins in the lobby at the post office, 809 S Lewis St; Food Pyramid, 421 N Main St; and Postal Pack and Ship Plus, 601 S Washington St.
Good items to donate are canned goods, rice, pastas, soups, peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, canned fruit, low sodium canned vegetables, granola bars, cereal, nuts, dried fruit and any other non-perishable items.
All of the food items will be donated to The Salvation Army and Our Daily Bread.
